David Limbaugh
David Limbaugh was born in Huntsville. Alabama, and grew up in a cotton mill village in Southwest Huntsville near Redstone Arsenal. He lost his father to cancer when he was 12. In 1975, his mother remarried, and the family relocated to Smyrna, Tennessee. David graduated as a Smyrna Bulldog in 1978. After graduation. he enlisted in the Tennessee Air National Guard and married his high school sweetheart. David went on to have a 30-year, Hall-of-Fame, career in Computer Aided Design and Reprographics.
In 2010, he decided to go to college and do what he always dreamed of doing: become a teacher and make his Mom happy. David enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University in the Spring of 2010 and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the Spring of 2013. MTSU still uses a photo of him celebrating his graduation on the MTSU website. David became a teacher at Riverdale High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in the fall of 2013 but has been involved with Riverdale since 1994, when his oldest son became a freshman football player. David helps the school with fund-raising efforts and its sports programs. He has been involved with high school sports state-wide since 1997 and was awarded the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association Distinguished Service Award in 2007. David has received a Teacher of the Nine Weeks award, WGNS’s Doug Young Teacher of the Month Award and the Titans Titan in the Community Award. The Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association awarded him with its Distinguished Service Award in December of 2018. David lost his Mom in 2019, but he had realized his dream to graduate from college and become a teacher. He made Mom happy.
